As the Director of Technology for Chisum ISD, it is my task to set the vision for, and manage the implementation and maintenance of a sound technology plan for the district. This includes ensuring we have the infrastructure (e.g., bandwidth, wireless, end user devices) and policies and practices needed to support modern education practices and to increase learning in the classrooms. Today this includes supporting over 1000 students and 140 staff members across three campuses. I am responsible for directly managing the operations of a small internal IT department and relationships with critical IT partners and vendors. It is my goal to work closely with our school administrators and teachers to understand their needs and identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of our educational and business initiatives.

My approach to technology leadership in the district is centered on four key principles:

• Create a positive and successful customer service culture that is focused on removing barriers to teaching and learning
• Demonstrate excellence in project management and implementation
• Provide effective communication and opportunities for training when needed
• Remain up to date on solid technical skills in order to get things done and done well.
